We just got back from Disney World.
And let me tell you something. When you’ve got three kids and a full itinerary, there’s no shame in skipping the lines.
Fast Lane? Absolutely.
Because I didn’t come all the way to Florida to stand around sweating for two hours just to ride something for three minutes.
I came to make memories.
To hear them scream-laugh on roller coasters.
To take blurry pictures mid-spin on the teacups.
To see their faces light up when they spot a character they’ve only ever seen on a screen.
People love to make little comments like,
“It’s not even that serious.”
Or, “You could’ve just waited like everyone else.”
But why should we?
I work hard. I save. I plan.
And when I take my kids somewhere magical, I want it to feel magical, not stressful.
It’s not about the money. It’s about the time and energy.
And I only get so many years where they’re still this excited to hold my hand through a theme park.
Still this happy to wear matching shirts.
Still this thrilled when I surprise them with churros before lunch.
So yes, we skipped the lines.
We stayed on schedule.
We squeezed every drop out of the day, and still got back in time to soak in the hotel pool before bed.
I know everyone parents differently.
But for me, I’d rather pay a little extra and make the most of it.
Because these years are flying by.
And if I can make them feel like royalty just for a day… why wouldn’t I?
Or maybe the better question is. Is it really about the fast lane?
Or about choosing joy on purpose?
Tell me what you think about cutting lines to get your family the best spot.
