The Parent Path

My Favorite Days Are Spent with My Kids

If you ask me what my favorite day of the week is, I won’t hesitate cause it’s the weekend. Not because I get to sleep in (though that’s a blessing), or because I finally get a break from the weekday hustle.

It’s my favorite because weekends are for my kids and I. They’re our little bubble of joy, connection, and everything in between.

Life moves fast. Monday through Friday is a whirlwind of school runs, work deadlines, packed lunches, and late-night homework. But when Saturday rolls in, something shifts. We slow down. We tune in. We spend time together.

And honestly? That intentional time, those little sacred pockets of joy, are what make motherhood feel like magic.

Movie Dates and Popcorn Conversations

There’s something about curling up together in a movie theater or at home under a pile of blankets that feels like a reset. The lights dim, the snacks are shared, and for those two hours, we laugh, cry, and escape together. It’s not just the movie, it’s the conversations afterward that I love the most. The way they ask questions, draw meaning, and let me into their world. I live for that.

Matching Nail Appointments & Mini Spa Days

Some people bond over sports. We bond over nail colors. There’s something so simple and sweet about sitting side by side, giggling over glittery polish or taking selfies while our toes dry. It’s more than just nails, it’s a tradition, a ritual, a reminder that we’re not just parent and child, but also friends, teammates, and trusted confidants.

Shopping Sprees That Turn Into Life Lessons

Weekend shopping sprees are our unofficial classroom. From picking outfits to learning how to budget, compare prices, and make decisions, it’s all in the mix. But more than anything, it’s another space to be together, talk about life, and teach them independence while still holding their hand through it.

Beach Days Full of Sand, Sunshine, and Soul Talks

The beach is our happy place. No schedules or tech. Just sun, water, laughter, and endless time.

Some of our best conversations have happened on a beach towel, salty and sun-kissed, just being real.

Heart-to-Hearts and Hugs That Last Longer

During the weekends, we get time to talk. Like, really talk. Not the rushed weekday check-ins, but the deep “How are you really?” kind of talks. The ones where I get to remind them that I’m always in their corner. That no matter how big they get, they’ll always have a soft place to land with me.

Because Weekends Are Sacred

Not about extravagant plans or spending a fortune. It’s about presence. It’s about creating a life where our kids feel seen, know the are heard, and loved, not just in passing, but in moments that are intentional and full.

So yes! My favorite days are spent with my kids.
Because weekends are more than a break from work.
They’re a return to what matters most.
